With everyone practicing social distancing, and Bollywood on shut down, most stars are homebound and getting some much-needed downtime. But for those who are parents, with schools shut, finding a way to entertain their kids is proving to be difficult. Ayushmann Khuranna took to his Instagram to share what he and wife Tahira Kashyap are doing.

With a whole bunch of newspapers on the floor, Tahira, five-year-old Varushka Khurrana and eight-year-old Virajveer Khurrana can be seen busy painting. In the last shot, Ayushmann reveals his artwork which he titled ‘gender fluid’.

Painting, though messy, is a great screen-free way to keep kids occupied. Painting also helps children communicate and express themselves, according to research.

Ayushmann has opened up about how he wants his children to have a normal childhood, and speaking to a leading newspaper he said, “They should have a normal upbringing that we had. That’s good for their growth. They should not be thinking in their head that they are stars already. They should learn everything the hard way and that can only be possible when Tahira (Kashyap Khurrana) and I bring them up in a certain way and keep them away from the arch lights.”

He also opened up about his parenting style, "I'm neither strict nor protective. I’m a kid like them. I play with them. While my wife (Tahira) acts like the bad cop, I’ve to be the good cop because most of the time I’m travelling for my films and gigs. It gets quite hectic and I can't afford to be strict. I've to be their friend."

Ayushmann also had his second child at 29, and spoke about that experience to a newspaper saying, “They don't really know what is happening around. He feels weird, when kids call me by my first name. Being a young father is an advantage. You don't look like a father. It’s fun to see your kids grow and you're in touch with the next generation."

Good on your Ayushmann and Tahira. We’re going to do the same thing with our kids today and unleash those little Picassos!
